What a fun-filled Sunday afternoon at Station Middle School’s production of The Addams Family! Many of us are familiar with the characters that entertained us for years in the popular TV show by the same name. Students did a wonderful job of bringing those characters to life on stage. Special shout outs to Kaitlin Tenbrunsel as Wednesday […]
Congratulations to Emi and Ola Celeste! They wrapped up their keyboard requirements for Level IC of ISMTA’s Achievement in Music program this week – just in time to receive a trophy at the studio showcase and awards ceremony on May 6th! Emi and Ola will both play one of their memorized pieces at the recital. […]
Bravo!! The Barrington High School cast and crew did Andrew Lloyd Webber proud last weekend with their production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. I was there on Saturday night and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. Liam Boyle in the role of Joseph stunned the crowd with his captivating vocals. I’ve never heard a high […]
The music in Shrek Jr is incredibly difficult for younger students to perform. The kids at Woods Creek Elementary did an admirable job! For most of them, it was their very first time on stage. (All of them were in fourth or fifth grade.) There were some very funny moments, well acted and well sung. Singers […]
Hats off to Schaumburg on Stage for presenting a memorable production of Les Misérables. It was a really enjoyable show with wonderful sets and costumes, not to mention one of the best prepared and impressive ensembles I have ever seen. (Kudos to Bel Canto students and alums Sophie Farmer, Ella Goluba, Kailey Jeffs, and Jessica Shimp!) Sound […]

Philip Celeste did a fantastic job last week on his remaining keyboard requirements for Achievement in Music (AIM) Level IC. Peyton Ball just wrapped up her AIM III requirements last night. Great work by both students – trophies are coming your way at the May showcase!

Kaitlin Tenbrunsel is in the fast lane these days! Eponine will be her third lead role in less than a year. Last spring she performed as Alex in Madagascar at Station Middle School. In June she was the Sour Kangaroo in Seussical, a Barrington district-wide production. Her audition for Les Miserables was her first attempt to break into […]
Laya Gopalakrishnan wrapped up her AIM III requirements in her last lesson – Theory, Technique, and Performance. Way to go, Laya! She’s already passed a couple of her songs for Level IV. Really doing a nice job. Keep up the great work!
It doesn’t get a whole lot better than landing your first lead role…Julia Baumer can hardly contain herself. She will be Fiona in Woodscreek Elementary’s winter production of Shrek Jr. This Crystal Lake school does an amazing job on all their shows. Can’t wait to see it! Way to go Julia – knew you […]

Congratulations are in order for Miss Stephanie Marin. She will be appearing in CYT/McHenry’s Oct-Nov production of Pinnochio. Tech week is coming up soon. Looks to be a really fun show!
Anna McCoy couldn’t be happier. She auditioned for Prairie Middle School’s fall play Apostrophes and was cast as Mrs. Sully! She’s been working hard to improve her acting technique. Guess all that hard work is paying off. Nice job Anna!
